Houseplant Basics Workshop
WHAT: Do you want to feel more comfortable cultivating your house plant collection? Join us for a night of plant education, complimentary herbal mocktails and all the materials needed to leave with a brand new potted plant. Led by Plants By Her founder Katlyn Daoust, this 90-minute Houseplant Basics workshop is designed to cover all the planty essentials and includes a hands-on learning lab.
We’ll start with a simple exercise to teach you how to chose the right plants for your space considering light, layout, pets and the amount of time you want to put into plant care. Next we’ll learn about soil and drainage basics so you’re ready to get your hands dirty potting a plant of your choice. When you sign up, decide between two options: a 2″ succulent with a matte-white modern pot for $30, or a 4″ tropical plant with a ceramic pot in a subtle bohemian style for $40. If you’d like to pot additional plants during the workshop we’ll have more options on hand to chose from.
We’ll close the evening with recommendations for watering, preventative pest control tips and a group Q&A for any specific questions you might have about your new plant.
WHEN: Friday, April 12th, 6:30-8:00 PM
WHERE: We’ll be hosting in the Porch Light shop located at 225 NW 11th Ave. Street parking is free after 7pm and there are several parking ramps nearby to chose from.
